Description:

We can't wait to welcome you to the Olivet family on June 22-23. Parents, families, and guardians are encouraged and invited to attend Orientation with you.

During Orientation, you will meet with your academic advisor, review your class schedule, meet faculty members and administrative staff, explore residence halls, become familiar with the campus, and meet a few hundred classmates! If you do not already have a roommate by this date, Orientation provides a great opportunity to find one.


WHEN TO ARRIVE

Early Check-in: Thursday, June 22, Noon-5 p.m. (If you plan to arrive after 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, you will want to take part in the standard check-in on Friday morning.) Standard Check-in: Friday, June 23, 8-10 a.m.

Opening Session is on Thursday, June 22 The official opening session and worship service are at 7 p.m., Thursday, June 22, in Centennial Chapel. This session will be followed by a dessert reception for families and a late-night event for students. Thursday will give you an opportunity to begin meeting your fellow classmates and will be especially helpful if you are still looking to connect with a roommate.

The Welcome Session on Friday will be at 10 a.m. in Centennial Chapel. Most schedules will wrap up by 4 p.m. on Friday, June 23. Review the schedule in your Orientation packet for more details!


ORIENTATION HOUSING

Free lodging is provided in the residence halls for students to experience a night in their future home. Linens (pillow, blanket, sheets, towel, and washcloth) will be supplied.

Please indicate on your orientation registration if you plan to stay in in a dorm so we can have your room and keys ready for you at check-in. Room keys should be picked up during the early check-in hours on Thursday.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What about choosing roommates?
A: We want every student to leave Orientation with a roommate! While many ONU students find their roommate through our Roommate Questionnaire or social media, an in-person roommate mingle will take place Thursday night at Orientation for those still searching for their roommate.

Q: What meals are provided?
A: On Friday, breakfast and lunch will be provided. For those arriving early on Thursday or staying late on Friday, please see our local dining guide to see some of our favorite Kankakee County spots.

Q: When do I get my class schedule?
A: To receive your Fall Class Schedule, complete your Class Preference Questionnaire and send in your official, final transcripts.

Q: Can I get transportation from the airport/train station?
A: If you would like to request transportation assistance from a Chicago airport or train station, please email us with at least two weeks notice at AdmissionsEvents@olivet.edu.
